The Mezan Belize 13 yo 2008 is an absolute rum specialty, which was bottled without added sugar, color additives and without chill-filtration. Distilled from molasses from fresh cane sugar from near the distillery in Belmopan and distilled in a triple column continuous still, this rum matured for 3 years in Belize in bourbon barrels before being brought to Europe and stored here for a further 10 years in ex-bourbon barrels that had previously been filled with other rums. This rum was finally bottled in 2021 at 46% vol.

The Mezan Belize 13 yo 2008 is already an absolute stunner on the nose. Gentle oak notes alternate with sweet vanilla. The full and aromatic taste is also evident on the palate with slight hints of creme brulee and hazelnut. Candied fruit alternates with caramel notes. A complex and long-lasting finish rounds off this rum. The Mezcan Belize 13 yo 2008 is best enjoyed neat.
