The Weller 12 yo Original Wheated Bourbon comes from the renowned Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort Kentucky and is a wheated bourbon, meaning it is made from wheat as a secondary grain and not rye. It was named after William Larue Weller, who is considered a pioneer of bourbon production in Kentucky. The Weller 12 yo Wheated Bourbon was aged for 12 years in new white oak barrels before being bottled at 45% vol.

The fresh, fruity and sweet aromas of Weller 12 yo Wheated Bourbon come across very strongly on the nose. Caramel and vanilla alternate with apricot, cherry and apple scents. Oak can also be detected. On the palate, the aromas already perceived on the nose continue and the sweetness of caramel and vanilla alternate again with fresh fruit flavors. Everything seems well balanced and is rounded off with warm oak aromas. The finish is smooth and long-lasting. A wonderful whiskey that is best enjoyed neat.
