The Foursquare 18 yo Covenant is the oldest bottling to date in the popular and often award-winning Exceptional Cask series from the renowned Foursquare Distillery in Barbados. The basis for this rum is a blend of distillates obtained in 2004 and 2005, which were stored for 10 years in ex-bourbon barrels made from American white oak. After these 10 years, the alcohol content was deliberately reduced in order to store this rum for a further 8 years before it was bottled at 58% in May 2023.

On the nose, the Foursquare 18 yo Covenant has a juicy fruit flavour of pineapple, sultanas and mangoes. This is rounded off by soft, sweet flavours of toffee and cocoa. The palate first reveals sweet caramel flavours, which then transition to fruity notes. The mango now appears riper and candied oranges are added. A hint of dark chocolate rounds off the flavour. The finish is delicate and dry with flavours of dried hazelnut and delicate eucalyptus. Experienced connoisseurs can savour this rum neat. Otherwise, we recommend adding a little water.
