The aroma of the Foursquare Redoutable is reminiscent of cherries, dark chocolate and plums. Earthy and nutty notes, coconut and vanilla are also recognizable. The palate is dominated by aromas of oak, nutmeg and cinnamon, as well as dark chocolate and fruit flavors.
The finish is long, with a pleasant sweetness of plums and a slight spiciness.
Overall, the Redoutable is a full-bodied, complex rum which, at 61% by volume, cuts an excellent figure both on its own, diluted with a little water, and in elegant cocktails.
