Widow Jane was founded in 2014 and takes its name from the Widow Jane Mine in Rosendale, New York. The spring water from the limestone caves there is used in the production of Widow Jane's Straight Bourbon Whiskey. The distillery's first proprietary whiskeys, made exclusively from grains sourced in the region, are currently aging. In the meantime, Widow Jane sells sourced Bourbon and Rye Whiskey from another distillery in Kentucky.
