The production volume steadily increased, and today, Glenlivet is one of the best-selling Single Malt Whiskies globally. Other brands, such as Royal Salute and Chivas Regal, also benefit from the light spirits produced by the distillery for their blends. These spirits come from the lantern-shaped still developed by the company's founder, George Smith. To ensure the distinctiveness of their whiskies, special cask types, such as Bourbon or Spanish Oloroso Sherry casks, are used, imparting exceptional flavors to the whiskies.
