The distillery quickly gained a reputation as a leading provider of high-quality rye, a success that would make the former residents of Templeton, Iowa, very proud. They secretly produced their own whiskey during the Prohibition era and hid it in cellars. Today, the Rye Whiskey is crafted slightly differently – 100 years of legality have influenced the production process. Made with 95 percent rye and 5 percent malted barley, Templeton Rye matures in American oak barrels.
