It was founded by Henry Bischoff, Frank Sinclair, and his brother. The rapid ascent did not take long to unfold: in the 1930s, the distillery was recognized as the most significant spirits producer in the entire nation. It gained international acclaim, particularly for its high-quality Bourbon Whiskeys. In addition to the Prohibition era, Schenley experienced economic prosperity in the post-war years and underwent several relocations. Since 1987, the spirits provider has been part of the Irish beverage manufacturer Guinness.
