Our Santa Teresa Range

The history of Hacienda Santa Teresa from northern Venezuela began in 1796 when the German merchant Gustav Julius Vollmer acquired the land for the future distillery, using it, among other purposes, for cultivating sugarcane. Read more

In 1909, his successor Gustavo Julio Vollmer Ribas began to focus on rum production and founded Santa Teresa 1796 Ron Antiguo. Since then, the distillery has been synonymous with outstanding craftsmanship. In the 1920s, the cultivation of sugarcane was intensified on the extensive lands. The molasses for rum production is sourced from a nearby sugar mill. Today, the distillery is led by Venezuelan entrepreneur Alberto C. Vollmer in the fifth generation.
