With a height of 326 meters, it is the highest-producing distillery and is located almost exactly at the geographical center of Scotland.
The relatively small distillery, with an annual capacity of 1.3 million liters of pure alcohol, is especially renowned for its smooth malts.
After being destroyed by a large fire in February 1934, it was completely renovated in 1986. Today, it is part of the globally operating spirits manufacturer Diageo.
Dalwhinnie has a visitor center and offers guided tours with tastings afterwards.
