Originally operating under the name Taylor & Ferguson Ltd., the brothers Joseph and Maurice Bloch patented the operation. From 1948 onwards, the brothers marketed their Scotch under the brand name Ambassador Whisky. The marketing strategy proved to be successful, especially in the United States, where the whiskies became sought-after products. Until the 1980s, the creations, promoted as the 'World's lightest Scotch,' held a significant share of the U.S. spirits market.
